If you read my about me page, you know that I like to make stuff. I have made stuff for years, and it was starting to take over the house. In order to try to free up some space, to make room for me to make more stuff, I have opened a shop on Etsy.com. Click the link to visit my shop, and read more about my creations below!
As I said, I've been making stuff for years. I started making jewelry back in college, when a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to go to a bead shop with her. I was fascinated by all the pretty baubles and beads, which soon became an obsession. I couldn't get enough of the sparkles and pretties, and I had soon had quite a stock of jewelry. Far too much for me to ever be able to wear it all. I sold a little here and there, but the more time that passed, the more my stock grew. Now I have more jewelry than I know what to do with! I love earrings - They're my favorite jewelry. But I also have a ton of bracelets, necklaces and eyeglass chains. Well, I guess eyeglass chains aren't technically jewelry, but they fit the category close enough.
Then I started crocheting scarves. I couldn't get enough of the pretty yarn. All different colors and textures. I thought "Hey, I bet I could learn to knit too!" I bought myself some knitting needles and looked it up online, and a knitting monster was born. I kept finding good deals on yarn, and couldn't make myself leave it in the store. Let me tell you, the yarn pile started growing quickly, and I can't turn it into scarves fast enough to keep up with the rate at which the stash is multiplying! I've got fuzzy scarves and bumpy scarves. Some scarves are wide and some are narrow, some are short and some are long. I have scarves that are solid color, some that are multi color, and even some with fuzzy multi colored pom-poms in them! I live in Texas - What in the world am I going to do with all these scarves?
Somewhere in there, sewing got thrown into the mix. I thought it would be handy to have little pouches to carry stuff in. Something that could be used as a wallet, coin purse, or just a carry-all for your small stuff. Then I figured it would be handy to have purses to carry them in. Fortunately I already had some fabric. Of course, I decided that I didn't have ENOUGH fabric so I needed to get more. It's just better if there are lots of options! So the fabric stash grew from one drawer to three. It started piling up on the floor. It was just magically appearing in our house! I just keep trying to make more stuff with it to keep the madness in check, but I haven't made much of a dent yet.
My shop is full of all kinds of fun handmade stuff, and I try to add new items frequently to keep things interesting. Go check it out! You never know, you might be able to help me clear out some space here to make room for more handcrafted goodies! You just may see something you need!
